FAQ

Here you can find a list of frequently asked questions for each type of photography coverage.

Booking
01. How do I book a session with you?
Simply fill out my inquiry form with a few details about what you're envisioning. I'll be in touch with availability, collection details, and everything you need to get started. Once your contract is signed and your retainer is paid, you're officially on my calendar!
02. How far in advance should I book?
I recommend reaching out as soon as you have a date or timeframe in mind, especially for weddings and seasonal sessions. My calendar tends to fill up several months in advance, but I'm always happy to check availability for last-minute inquiries.
03. Do you require a retainer to book?
Yes! A non-refundable retainer and signed contract are required to officially reserve your date. The remaining balance and payment schedule will be outlined in your booking details so you know exactly what to expect.
Holding Dates
01. Can you hold a date for me while I decide?
Dates are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be held without a signed contract and paid retainer. If you have a specific date in mind, I recommend securing it sooner rather than later.
02. What happens if someone else inquires about my date?
Until your booking is complete, your date remains available to other clients. I always encourage reaching out when you're ready to move forward so we can make things official.
03. Can I change my date after booking?
I understand that plans sometimes change! Date changes are subject to availability and the terms of your contract. If something comes up, reach out as soon as possible and we'll talk through your options.
Weddings
01. Do you offer both wedding photography and videography?
Yes! Still House offers both photography and wedding films, allowing your day to be preserved through beautiful imagery and meaningful motion. Whether you're looking for one or both, we'll find the collection that best fits your celebration.
02. Do you help with wedding day timelines?
Absolutely! I'll work with you and your planner to create a photography-friendly timeline that allows room for all the important moments without making your day feel rushed. My goal is for you to be fully present while we document your story as it naturally unfolds.
03. What is your approach to photographing weddings?
My approach is a blend of gentle direction and honest documentation. I'll step in when needed for portraits and meaningful details, but I also believe the most beautiful moments are often the ones that happen without prompting. Your wedding should feel like your wedding, not an all-day photoshoot.
Motherhood
01. When is the best time to schedule maternity photos?
I typically recommend scheduling maternity sessions between 28 and 34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully defined but you're hopefully still feeling comfortable. Every pregnancy is different, so we'll choose a timeframe that feels right for you.
02. What if my children don't cooperate during our session?
That's completely okay, and honestly, expected! Little ones have their own personalities, and I never want your session to feel stressful or forced. We'll make space for movement, snuggles, breaks, and all the little moments that make your family yours.
03. What should we wear for our motherhood session?
Soft textures, timeless pieces, and neutral or muted tones photograph beautifully, but the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and like yourself. I'm happy to help with wardrobe guidance so everything feels cohesive without looking overly coordinated.
Families + Large Groups
01. Do you photograph extended families and large groups?
Absolutely! Whether it's your immediate family or several generations coming together, I love documenting the people who mean the most to you. Extended family sessions include a beautiful mix of full group portraits, smaller family combinations, and the natural, in-between moments that make your family unique.
02. What if our kids are shy, energetic, or don't cooperate?
No worries at all! I never expect little ones to sit perfectly still or smile on command. My sessions are relaxed and allow plenty of room for movement, play, and genuine connection. Some of my favorite images come from the moments you weren't expecting.
03. How do you organize photos with larger families?
A little planning goes a long way! Before your session, we'll discuss who's attending and any specific groupings you'd like photographed. I'll gently guide everyone through the larger portraits first, then break into smaller family groups and more candid moments. My goal is to make the experience feel easy and enjoyable for everyone, even with a big crowd!
Seniors
01. When should I book my senior portraits?
Most seniors book during the summer before or fall of their senior year, but spring sessions are also a beautiful option. If you need images for graduation announcements or yearbook deadlines, I recommend booking early to allow plenty of time for your gallery.
02. Can I bring multiple outfits or incorporate personal interests?
Of course! Your senior session should reflect who you are in this season of life. Whether that means a few outfit changes, a meaningful location, or incorporating sports, hobbies, or personal details, we'll create something that feels authentic to you.
03. I've never had professional photos taken. Will you help me pose?
Absolutely! You don't need to know what to do in front of the camera. I'll guide you through natural movement and simple posing so nothing feels stiff or overly staged. The goal is for you to feel comfortable, confident, and completely yourself.
Business + Branding
01. What's the difference between branding photography and traditional headshots?
Headshots focus primarily on professional portraits, while branding photography tells a more complete story about you and your business. We can capture portraits, behind-the-scenes moments, your workspace, products, and the thoughtful details that help your audience connect with your brand.
02. How do I prepare for my branding session?
Before your session, we'll discuss your business, brand aesthetic, goals, and how you plan to use your images. From there, I'll help you think through locations, wardrobe, props, and a shot list so we can create a cohesive gallery that feels intentional and true to your brand.
03. Can I use my branding images on my website and social media?
Yes! Branding sessions are designed to provide beautiful, versatile imagery for your business. Your images can be used across your website, social media, and marketing materials in accordance with the usage rights outlined in your agreement.
